I've always loved Ercol furniture but never been able to justify the cost. However, I recently pick one up second hand, in mint condition except for a broken door handle.

Now, I can obtain a new door handle but I believe that the old handle has a dowel which is glued into the door. Is there any special procedure I need to use to extract the old handle?

It's a Wndsor sideboard..
